INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of Macedonian tahini
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 tea spoon of mastic in small pieces
  • 1 tea spoon of mahaleb
  • 6 tea spoons of baking powder
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 Kg flour (apprx)
  • 2 cups of sesame seeds

PREPARATION

Place the tahini in a large bowl with the sugar and slowly add the water followed by the rest of the ingredients except the flour. Stir well and add the flour, carefully not to make the dough very tight. Take small portions of dough, shape into cookies and cover them with sesame seeds. Place on baking tray that has been oiled with sesame oil. Put in oven for 1 hour (150°C).
